Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 + Quarterly Bonus Potential

Clyde’s of Gallery Place, one of Clyde’s Restaurant Group’s busiest concepts, is seeking a General Manager. Clyde’s of Gallery Place is located in the renewed Penn Quarter neighborhood in Washington DC, and is steps from the Capital One Arena.

This position is ideal for a General Manager with experience in managing large teams in an upscale, complex, high-volume, and creatively dynamic restaurant and bar. We are looking for someone who can provide an excellent guest and employee experience, maintain a pristine facility, and create a vibrant and fun bar scene.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A GENERAL MANAGER

  • Hardworking, attentive, and hospitality-driven with a desire to excel and maintain the highest level of service
  • 2-3 years’ experience as a General Manager preferably in a high-volume restaurant
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Provides guests with exceptional service and value
  • Disciplined and firm about standards of performance, yet fair and personable in developing employees

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AS A GENERAL MANAGER

  • Sets engaging hospitality tone for restaurant
  • Interviews, hires, trains, schedules and develops front of the house (FOH) managers and employees
  • Works the floor hands-on by greeting guests, processing checks, investigates and resolves customer complaints
  • Interacts with guests in genuine and friendly manner to establish a personal, professional rapport
  • Develops and manages annual financial plan for restaurant
  • Completes performance reviews for dining room managers and employees and assigns developmental goals based on observation of the employee’s performance.
  • Conducts daily menu class
  • Directs employee in safety and health prevention measures.
  • Leads and manages monthly inventory
  • Writes agendas for and conducts departmental meetings
  • Assigns service goals for the month
  • Runs weekly manager meetings
  • Works closely with Executive Chef in menu planning and cost control
