Salary: $110,000 - $125,000 / year based on experience + Quarterly Bonus Potential

Ebbitt House, one of Clyde’s Restaurant Group’s latest concepts and the sister concept of historic Old Ebbitt Grill in Washington, DC is opening in the Spring of 2026. We are seeking a talented Executive Chef to join our team and lead the opening. Ebbitt House will import Old Ebbitt’s popular menu of American classics, twice-a-day happy hours, oyster-fueled raw bar, and plentiful seafood towers. Ebbitt House is “a stylish modern spin” on the original, which will feature 300 seats inside, two bars, and room for 125 outside on its patio, which will also have its own bar. The restaurant is part of Reston Station, an 80-acre mixed-use development near Metro’s Wiehle-Reston East Station that is home to regional headquarters for titans like Google, Spotify, and Rolls-Royce of America.

This position is ideal for an Executive Chef with experience managing large teams in a complex, high-volume, and creatively dynamic kitchen. We are looking for someone who can deliver an excellent culinary experience, maintain a pristine facility, create a fun and exciting menu and foster a high performing team. WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN AN EXECUTIVE CHEF

  • Hardworking, attentive, and hospitality-driven with a desire to excel and maintain the highest level of service.
  • 2-3 years’ experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume restaurant, fast-paced, and highly pressured environment.
  • Able to lead and respond efficiently to unanticipated problems.
  • Computer literate; Microsoft Suite Skills.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Think and act creatively to provide guests with exceptional service and value.
  • Conceptual understanding of American food and the culinary ability to deliver American food through menu, food preparation, and production.
  • Disciplined and firm about standards of performance, yet fair and personable in developing employees.

WHAT YOU WILL DO AS A EXECUTIVE CHEF

  • Leads kitchen operations by setting high standards in food preparation, production, and presentation while fostering a strong, motivated team.
  • Supervises and delegates food preparation, ensuring smooth service and efficient execution across both FOH and HOH teams.
  • Drives financial performance by managing inventory, portion control, and food costs to meet or exceed budgeted goals.
  • Controls labor costs through strategic scheduling and monitoring reports, ensuring profitability.
  • Works with the Director of Culinary to develop and refine menus, balancing creativity, quality, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring POS programming accuracy.
  • Leads the recruitment, training, and development of a high-performing kitchen team, promoting skills, efficiency, and engagement.
  • Conducts menu training for both FOH and HOH teams, providing ongoing staff development to reinforce consistency and excellence, while ensuring food quality through regular taste, portion, and presentation evaluations.
  • Ensures compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards, coordinating corrective actions as necessary.
  • Manages equipment maintenance and repairs, ensuring a safe and functional kitchen environment.
  • Promotes a positive and collaborative work environment by embodying Courtesy, Dignity, and Respect, encouraging open communication and teamwork to strengthen morale and retain top talent.
