Green Initiatives

Clyde's Restaurant Group actively works towards reducing our environmental impact through thoughtful partnerships and responsible practices that reflect a deep-rooted commitment to a more sustainable, environmentally friendly, and interconnected culinary community.

Charitable Partnerships

We proudly partner with organizations championing environmental sustainability and social welfare. Since 2009, our collaboration with the Oyster Recovery Partnership has driven oyster shell recycling efforts and raised awareness at events like Oyster Riot. Additionally, we collaborate with other organizations to advance local farming and sustainable agriculture, as well as to support at-risk youth in our region.

Recognition

Clyde's Restaurant Group has been recognized for its contribution to the Oyster Recycling Partnership and our sustainability efforts by the Steel Keg Association.

  • Old Ebbitt Grill partners with the Oyster Recycling Partnership, donating thousands of bushels of oyster shells to support the health of the Chesapeake Bay and provide seafood for Washington, DC. In 2022, the restaurant recycled 1,234 bushels, contributing to the planting of over six million oysters. They aim to recycle up to 1.2 million oyster shells in 2024 through their daily service and events like Oyster Riot.
  • Clyde’s Restaurant Group received the 2023 Keg Champion Award from the Steel Keg Association for their sustainability efforts, with the association donating $1,000 to World Central Kitchen on their behalf.
